Family and Local History Conference in North Devon

On Saturday 12 October 2024, Devon Family History Society will be holding a one-day event in Buckland Brewer, in conjunction with Buckland Brewer History Group. There will be three talks, displays and a guided tour of the village. £10 per person. Lunch is available at extra cost.

 

The speakers are:

Oh Dear what can the Matter Be, Auntie Jo is Lost in the Family Tree: tracing your female ancestors – Margaret Roberts. Margaret a presenter with international speaking experience, Margaret is a sports historian by profession and has a particular interest in women's history.

Esme on the case – the route from research to plot – Wendy Percival. Wendy is a local author who writes novels set in North Devon, that have a genealogical twist.

Maritime heritage stories from the Torridge – Mike Teare. Mike is part of the East-the-Water, Bideford Way of the Wharves history project.
